New, Fun Makeup Idea:
 Contouring with Boom

New, Fun Makeup Technique: Contouring with Boom
New, Fun Makeup Technique: Contouring with Boom

Do you love trying out fun makeup techniques?

If so, we have a new one for you to try: contouring.

Contouring is a makeup technique that can subtly enhance the natural structure of your face.

After trending with makeup artists for a few years, it’s hit the mainstream. More and more women are giving contouring a try.

You don’t need complicated palettes or special skills to do it. In fact, you can contour with your Boomstick Trio.

Contouring with powders can accentuate your skin’s texture. Powders can also be difficult to blend on drier skin, leading to harsh, unnatural lines.

When you contour with the Boomstick Trio you add moisture and a subtle, natural-looking tint that’s easy to blend.

Now of course, contouring isn’t necessary—but it can be fun to try a new makeup technique like this. When done well, contouring adds barely-there definition that’s lovely on any woman.

It can also be fun to switch up your makeup routine for a special occasion, a Zoom call or a fun night in.

Here’s an introduction on how to give contouring a try.

1. Moisturize first.

Contouring requires a lot of blending, so be sure to moisturize your face well, including your forehead to your hairline and under your jaw. Boomstick Glo is a great choice for this because it leaves a silky smooth finish on your skin.

If you choose to wear foundation, apply it after your moisturizer and let it dry before step 2.

2. Boomstick Color for Definition

The darker color of your contour adds definition to features like your cheekbones or jawline.

To create this effect, apply Boomstick Color under your cheekbones, either directly to your skin or with a brush. This creates or deepens the appearance of a hollow in your cheeks.

Next, use Boomstick Color along your jaw. Boom Ambassador Mireya does this to define her jawline.

You can also use this cosmetic stick along the sides of your nose to sharpen and highlight it. Dab Boomstick Color from the bridge of the nose down to the top of your nostrils.

Finally, apply Boomstick Color at your temples near the hairline to taper the sides of your forehead.

Then use your fingers or a brush to blend, erasing any harsh lines.

You can also use this cosmetic stick along the sides of your nose to sharpen and highlight it. Dab Boomstick Color from your inner eyelids down to the top of your nostrils.

Finally, apply Boomstick Color at your temples near the hairline to taper the sides of your forehead.

Then use your fingers or a brush to blend, erasing any harsh lines.

3. Boomstick Glimmer for Highlight

Next, use a highlighter to help brighten and lift areas of your face, like the bridge of your nose and your cheekbones.

Apply Boomstick Glimmer directly or with your fingers down the center of your nose.

Then dab Boomstick Glimmer along the top of your cheekbones and on the center of your forehead just above your eyes, like Mireya does in this video.

Just like in step two, use your fingers or a brush to gently blend.

Combined with the darker contour in step two, this enhances the natural shape of your face while adding subtle shimmer to your nose and cheekbones.

4. Apply the rest of your makeup the way you normally would.

Finally, apply the rest of your makeup as you normally would. Add Boomstick Color to your lips and use your finger to apply Boomstick Glimmer to your eyelids. For extra fun, apply a layer or two of Boom Bright mascara to your lashes.

We hope you enjoy trying out this technique yourself at home. If you do, let us know how it goes.
