I used to not be comfortable in my own skin... I was critical of my body and wore a lot of make-up to try and feel better about myself. However, coupled with my faith, I slowly started realizing the importance of taking better care of myself.
Therefore, I started being aware of all the toxins I was putting into my body and on my body/face. I experimented with making my own face cream which I eventually found to work quite well, but it was a lot of work and time. Unfortunately, my experiments with natural makeup weren't working for me so I could not embrace the natural look, at that time...
However, one day, while researching natural makeups, I came across Cindy Joseph's videos and blogs about the pro-age movement and that less is more. I was intrigued by her confidence and radiance in her less is more concept in regards to makeup - and she was a makeup artist. One of her videos mentioned that it takes a couple of weeks or so to get used to your natural look with less or no makeup with an encouragement to give it a try. I was finally up for the challenge... so I ordered the Boomstick Trio and fell in love with Boomstick Color and Boomstick Glimmer. I embraced the "less is more" look and my confidence grew as I embraced my age and not hiding it with makeup anymore.
A few years later when I had the opportunity to become a Boom Ambassador, I was introduced to the other Boom products I had not used before and loved that they took the same stance I did in natural and organic products with no toxic ingredients. The great part is I got the benefit without all the time/effort I was putting into making it myself. What a treat!
So now, I only take maybe 5 minutes to "put my face on" with only Boomstick Color & Boomstick Glimmer then a small line of eyeliner and mascara on my top lid/lashes only. I proudly embrace my age, eat healthily, and am kind to myself with my new lifestyle. Along with my faith, I've learned and grown from my experiences to appreciate who I am and what I look like at this stage of my life... I am actually grateful that Cindy Joseph and the Boomsticks played a part at the beginning of that journey and for that, I thank you...
